Getting started

How do I create an account?

Sign up with email or Google on the web or in the app. Takes under 60 seconds, no credit card required.

Creating a KeptMind account is intentionally fast — under 60 seconds from opening the app to your first capture. No onboarding quiz, no mandatory tutorial. The goal is to get you capturing thoughts as quickly as possible.

## Sign up on mobile (recommended)

1. Download KeptMind from the [App Store](https://apps.apple.com/app/keptmind) (iOS) or [Google Play](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.keptmind.app) (Android)

2. Open the app and tap **Get started**

3. Choose **Sign up with Google** (one tap, uses your existing Google account) or **Sign up with email** (enter email + choose a password)

4. You land directly in the capture screen — ready to speak your first thought

Google sign-up is faster because it skips the password step entirely. Email sign-up sends a verification email; you can use the app immediately but some features (calendar sync, export) require verification first.

## Sign up on web

Go to [keptmind.com/signup](/signup). Same two options: Google or email. After sign-up, the web shows your account dashboard. For daily use, the mobile app is the primary interface — the web is for settings, export, and account management.

## After sign-up

Once signed in, you see four tabs: **Capture** (voice/text input), **Tasks** (your Today list), **Energy** (daily check-in), and **Calendar** (if connected). The first thing to try: tap the microphone on the Capture tab and say whatever is loudest in your head right now. KeptMind parses it into a task automatically.

## Forgot password

On the sign-in screen, tap **Forgot password**. Enter your email; we send a reset link within 60 seconds. The link expires after 1 hour. If you signed up with Google, there is no KeptMind password — use the Google sign-in button instead.

## Multiple devices

Sign in on as many devices as you want — iPhone, Android tablet, web browser. Everything syncs in real time. Voice captures from any device appear in the same Today list. There is no device limit on any plan.

## Frequently asked questions

### Can I use KeptMind without creating an account?

No — an account is required because your tasks, captures, and energy logs need to sync across devices and persist between sessions. The account is free and we do not sell your data.

### Can I change my email later?

Yes. Settings → Account → Change email. You will need to verify the new email before the change takes effect.

### Can I delete my account?

Yes. Settings → Data → Delete account. This permanently removes all your data within 30 days. Export first if you want to keep anything — see [How do I export all my data?](/help/export-data).

### Is there a minimum age?

You must be 16 or older to create an account (GDPR requirement for EU users). Parents can create accounts for children under 16 with parental consent.
